Microsoft has announced on June 4, 2018, that they are going to acquire GitHub, popular Git-based code sharing, and collaboration service. It has been confirmed that the price of acquiring the GitHub was $7.5 billion in Microsoft stock.

GitHub is the world’s leading software development platform where developers can learn and share coding knowledge and experience too. More than 28 million developers are there to communicate for the coding related issues.

Now, Nat Friedman will become the new CEO of GitHub (Former Xamarin CEO) and GitHub founder and former CEO Chris Wanstrath will become a technical fellow at Microsoft.

In a blog post on GitHub, we have seen they said ” I am very excited to announce that Microsoft is acquiring GitHub and expect the agreement to close by the end of the year. ”

GitHub says that as of March 2018, there were 28 million developers in its community, and 85 million code repositories, making it the largest host of source code globally and a cornerstone of how many in the tech world build software, as published on TechCrunch

Today’s cloud computing-based Microsoft is built a new partnership under CEO Satya Nadella which is far different from past open source hostile. Microsoft has acquired GitHub, this fact makes GitHub more trusted projects and source control for all enterprises.

Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft declared that their developers use GitHub with our direct sales and partner channels to access Microsoft’s global cloud infrastructure and services. Github increases 10x amount of professionals moving their repositories over to its services.
